Prices
- Source. The vendor's own pricing page, or its own help or terms page for refunds and cancelling. Never app-store purchase lists (they show every product a company ever created, not what it sells today) and never other review sites.
- Evidence. A full-page screenshot and a text copy of the pricing page, saved with the date and time we read it.
- Freshness. A script re-reads every pricing page each morning from a US server and flags any change. A person confirms the change on the live page before this site is updated, and the change goes in the price change log.
- Currency. Some pages show local currency to visitors outside the US. We publish only US dollar prices we have seen ourselves; anything else is shown in the currency we saw until a US check confirms the dollar price.
- Cost per 1,000 words. The monthly price divided by the monthly word allowance. It assumes you use the whole allowance, so it flatters big plans if you won't.
Hands-on tests (starting November 2026)
- Same inputs for every tool. A fixed set of short texts: AI-written drafts we generate ourselves, plus human-written controls (public-domain essays and our own writing). The texts stay the same each month so results can be compared over time; new ones are added each quarter.
- Free tiers first. We test what anyone can use without paying. Paid plans are tested only when a plan is bought or a vendor gives us an account, and the page will say which.
- What we measure. Whether each output passes a panel of free AI detectors, whether it keeps the meaning of the original, and whether it adds grammar mistakes. A humanizer that "passes" by turning an essay into nonsense doesn't count as a pass.
- Everything published. Every input, every output and every detector score, so anyone can check our work.
What we can't test
Turnitin. Turnitin sells only to schools and universities. We don't have access and won't pretend otherwise: no "Turnitin-style" scores, no screenshots of someone else's report. Where Turnitin matters, we quote Turnitin's own documentation.
Detectors whose terms forbid publishing results. Some detector companies don't allow published benchmarks without their permission. We follow those terms and say which detectors are missing and why.
Independence
No humanizer or detector company pays for placement, reviews or rankings. There are no affiliate links on this site today. If that changes, every page with such a link will say so at the top, and rankings will still come only from our data. More on the about page.
Corrections
If a price or fact here is wrong, the date on the page tells you how old it is. Prices get fixed the same day we confirm a change.
